The speaker discusses various methods of combating Legionella, one of the main health risk areas in large domestic hot water distribution systems. Aimed at public health engineers and mechanical engineers, the CPD delivers an overview of the risks and various methods to prevent proliferation of the bacteria, and confirms some of the current standards to which domestic hot water systems are designed. Thermal balancing can play a major part in reducing the risk of bacteria such as Legionella from proliferating in water systems and the CPD also includes a section on how to maximise the effectiveness of thermal balancing application.

Organiser: Cian Hennessy

Speaker: Brian Lipscombe – Specifcations–Manager Water Products, Honeywell

Brian will give attendees an insight into the potential limitations of the traditional static balancing method, be updated with the current design standards and will understand the advantages and application of thermal balancing methods.
